Chapter 108: Abduction
Jennifer woke up to a heavy knock on her door, the sound echoing through her small apartment.
She got out of bed, hesitant, and made her way to the entrance.
She opened the door to find a stranger she had never seen before, a man with a rugged face and piercing eyes.
He didn't look homeless at all;
In fact, he looked like he could help her with his broad shoulders and confident stance.
"Can I get one dollar from you?
I haven't eaten in days,"
The man said, feigning a cry.
Jennifer was uncomfortable but polite, trying to hide her skepticism.
"I'm sorry, but I have nothing."
The man's pleading continued, his voice rising in desperation.
"Please help me... please help me."
Jennifer was skeptical, her mind racing with questions.
Why was he targeting her?
Why did he look so out of place in her neighborhood?
The man's response sent a chill down her spine.
"You were the one the Holy Spirit directed me to, and since it's evening,
I just needed somewhere close."
