"Great," Kingsley said dismissively. "Since you still have the strength to do that, you must be holding up pretty well."
Unfazed, he grabbed an inhalation mask and placed it over her nose and mouth. He smiled and continued, "This is aerosol anesthetic. It'll put you under in three seconds. Once you pass out, I can do whatever I want."
He cackled, and before Abigail could react, the anesthesia took effect. She struggled to open her eyes to no avail, but she lost consciousness in the next second.
By the time Helen arrived, Kingsley was just stepping out of the operation room.
"Kingsley, how is Abigail?" She had rushed over as soon as she received Chandler's call.
"I've already stitched up her wound. It'll be quite painful, so I deliberately gave her a heavier dose of anesthesia so she can sleep longer," Kingsley said, his expression impassive.
Every time he performed surgery, he seemed like a different person—serious and focused.
