It seemed that Abigail was becoming increasingly difficult to deceive.
"You're right," Aiden said, attempting to steer the conversation in his favor. "But as you know, Uncle Carlos has always had faith in me. If he chooses to hand over the company to me, how could I possibly turn it down?"
He needed to convince everyone that his actions were beyond his control, that he was merely stepping up because the circumstances left him no choice.
"As long as it's done through legitimate means, I have no issue with it," Abigail responded, maintaining her sense of fairness.
"I knew you'd always have my back," Aiden said, clearly pleased with her response.
"We've known each other for so long, and I don't want to jump to conclusions," Abigail said, her words reflecting the trust built over years of friendship. "I just hope you won't disappoint me."
Though she said this, Taylor's warning still lingered in her mind. Abigail was fully aware of Aiden's ambitious nature.
