When Abigail's name reached his ears, Taylor's eyes shot open, and he sprang up from the couch in a panic.
As Abigail stepped inside, he froze for a moment. Grabbing the pink blanket, he threw it over his head and scrambled upstairs.
The commotion caught Abigail's attention, prompting her to look up. All she saw was a tall, lanky figure in a pale yellow dress with a pink headscarf darting out of sight.
"Who was that?" Abigail wondered aloud.
"Just the new housekeeper," Helen replied.
Considering the Fitzgerald family's habit of employing foreign workers, Abigail didn't give it much thought. "She's pretty tall."
"Yeah," Helen replied with a nervous laugh. "Aren't you supposed to be on a date today? Why are you back so soon?"
Abigail shook her head, leading Helen to the couch. "I'm not the clingy type. I don't need to see Aiden every day—it just doesn't feel right."
