Chapter 940
Teresa shot up in her tent with a scream. The darkness wrapped around her like a heavy blanket. It was so quiet that she could hear her heart thumping in her chest.
Even though the nightmare was over, she was still soaked in cold sweat, and the disturbing images just wouldn't leave her mind.
Then, she heard Evan's voice from outside the tent. "Teri, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Teresa replied, taking a moment to catch her breath. She unzipped the tent and stepped outside.
The temperature on the mountain at midnight was freezing, just like winter. Even with a thin blanket wrapped around her, Teresa could still feel the cold creeping in from every side.
Evan handed her a thermos, his eyes searching her face in the dim light. "Bad dream?"
She took a sip of warm water, letting it slide down her throat. For a moment, she paused to remember the nightmare and hummed in response.
Teresa found a rock to sit on and stared at the calm night sky, her mind completely blank.
