Chapter 703
Tiffany suddenly understood why Vincent had become so agitated.
"But isn't Esther dead?" Tiffany asked, puzzled. If Vincent hadn't been mistaken, could it be that they had seen a ghost?
Vincent, looking tired, rubbed his brow. "Maybe I just imagined it." He turned his gaze to Tiffany's forehead for a few seconds. "Sorry, Tiff. Did I scare you?"
Tiffany shook her head.
Vincent sighed. "It's my fault."
She offered, "Let me drive. You don't look well." Without protest, Vincent switched places with her.
On the way back, Tiffany drove while Vincent reclined the passenger seat and rested for a while. Tiffany found a soothing piano piece on the radio and turned the volume down. Gradually, she could hear Vincent's steady, even breathing.
At a red light, Tiffany stopped the car and turned to look at him. Even in his sleep, Vincent's brows were furrowed deeply, as if some unresolved sorrow was troubling him.
