Chapter 479
Vincent let out a low growl as he sat up in bed. His head felt like it had been hammered violently, the pain nearly splitting it apart. He covered his eyes with his hands and felt the pulsing veins on his eyelids as if they were about to tear him apart.
Alex entered the room, "Mr. Lewis?"
Alex didn't turn on the lights as he was concerned that bright light might hurt his eyes. Instead, he moved forward and slightly opened the curtains, letting in just enough light from outside.
Vincent held his head for a long while before he could finally catch his breath. He looked out the window.
The sky was already dark, with heavy clouds hanging like a weight on his chest, suffocating and oppressive. He asked, "What time is it?"
"It's almost five o'clock. You slept pretty deeply for nearly three hours," Alex replied.
Vincent closed his eyes and picked up his phone, noticing that Tiffany had called him twice and sent three text messages. He opened the messages and read them one by one.
