48 A Tipsy Tango
As Damon observed Lia and Jacob rejoining the party together, a flicker of jealousy crossed his expression. Suppressing the emotion, he put on a composed facade but couldn't resist making a snide comment.
Damon: (nonchalantly) Well, isn't this a charming duo? I didn't realize our engagement came with a sidekick.
Lia, sensing the underlying tension, shot Damon a puzzled look.
Lia: (confused) What's that supposed to mean?
Damon: (smirking) Just an observation. Enjoy the party.
