A hint of disdain flickered in my eyes as I stared at Caleb impassively.
When I was down, he'd taken pleasure in my misfortune, and now that I'd found success, he was eager to curry favor. We didn't need people like him in our company.
I feigned regret as I spoke, "Sorry, but our team is currently at full capacity. We're not looking to bring anyone else on board."
Caleb's expression darkened immediately. "Kaelan, I helped you a lot before your company hit rock bottom. Is this how you repay me with such coldness?
"I even thought of you as a best friend. I can't believe you're this kind of person."
Unable to contain my scorn, I let out a cold laugh. "A best friend? Were you interested in my position now, or did you actually consider me a friend back then?
"When I struggled, I genuinely offered you a chance to join my team and help build something great. Do you remember what you said? Now that your venture has failed, you're trying to guilt me into helping you."
