Chapter Twenty-Two: Night Run Part One

Kiara, at age nine Kiara POV: "Honey, Queen Diana is asking you something." I heard mom say as she nudged me on my shoulder. I blushed! I didn't know the queen was talking to me. I was too busy scowling at the veggies on my plate. Unlike yesterday there wasn't a buffet, where we had a choice of foods. Today our food was brought to us at the table, and besides the array of meat, there were tons of veggies. Yuck! There were definitely bugs in them! And the bad part was that daddy and mom said I couldn't have any more cake if I didn't finish everything that was on my plate. When me, JJ and Rex were at the dessert table, Auntie Meg and Rex's mean babysitter had dragged us back, saying that our parents were calling us and that if we didn't return to our table, this instant, King Kayden and Jayden would be mad. The thought of them giving us those scary eyes that mom gave me when she was mad had me shiver, and I made JJ and Rex come back to the table. Luckily all of us were at the same table.
