Chapter 19 The Whereabouts of Her Mother
Regina remained unable to control her emotions as long as she thought of Mandel lingering in Cecily's room in the middle of the night. Her stern demeanor offers no opportunity for compromise: "I stated that you are uninterested in my affairs. I'm leaving right now."
After speaking, Regina turned around and left.
"Don't you want to know where your mother is?"
A chilly voice poured down from behind her like a basin of ice water from the depths of winter.
"What exactly did you say?" Regina abruptly turned around. Her brilliant eyes were fixated on the man before her.
"Don't you want to know where your mother is?" Mandel responded word for word with a sneer.
"Tell me where my mum is." Regina's eyes brightened with delight. She gripped Mandel's sleeves tightly with both hands. She didn't realize how many tears she had poured for her mother. Regina was clutching Mandel as if it were a life-saving straw, refusing to let go.
