Wynnie cupped my face and pressed her forehead against mine. Then, she kissed away the tear streaks on my cheeks with her red lips.
"Sebastian, trust me. Trust me one more time!"
Her voice trembled as she sobbed. "I know I've hurt you deeply, and I know that I have no right to ask you to become the person you used to be, but I hope you can give me a chance!
"Give me a chance to love you and make up for what I've done. Let's start over, okay?"
As she spoke, she closed the distance between us and kissed me tenderly. This kiss was not like the violent, venting ones of the past; it was gentle, lingering. I found myself sinking into it with her.
When the kiss ended, both of us were breathless. Looking at the woman before me, the one who had left such an inedible mark on my heart, I felt a glimmer of hope.
