Chapter 531 I Must Have Her
The next day, Madeleine woke up with a pair of frog eyes, and Iris was surprised when she saw her.
"Holy sh*t, what are you playing at? Your eyes look so swollen..."
Madeleine did not answer her. She took a towel, rinsed it with cold water, wrung it out, put it on top of her eyes, and pressed it gently.
"That's not going to work," Iris said helplessly as she looked at Madeleine's thin back with some distress. "I noticed that you stopped smiling as much after coming back from abroad. If I knew this was going to happen, I wouldn’t have agreed to come back in the first place."
"No," Madeleine said what she said as she pressed the towel on her eyes. "Why shouldn’t I come back? This is where I grew up. It's no one's business if I come back."
"But..." ‘You're not happy.’
Iris could only finish the sentence in her heart.
"It's fine." Madeleine smiled faintly again. "I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me. Five years have come and gone. Why would I not survive this period?”
