Mason raised his eyebrow, and let out a cold snort of laughter after he heard that. “Is she putting on a pity show? How could a fetus be affected that easily?” 

Simon said, “...Young Master Yeich, Miss Schmidt did indeed look in bad shape. Besides, this is the hospital’s diagnosis.”

“Did she think she could keep that wild child just by faking illness?”

Simon soon left. Mason wheeled himself towards the ward, the wheels on his chair noiseless as they slid into the stark white ward. 

The smell of disinfectant wafted into his nostrils. The petite woman was lying on the bed, her hands neatly flattened against her chest and a pretty expression on her face. Aside from her pale face and lips, you could not tell that she was sick. She looked more like she was asleep. 

Such a cunning woman, yet she looked like this when she was comatose. 

The wheels slowly approached the side of the bed. 

Mason’s deep eyes were fixated on her. 

She had to be faking it, right? There was no way things were so coincidental that she fainted at this time. Did she think that she could keep that wild child this way? 

Mason looked at her in fascination. Claire’s eyelashes fluttered slightly as she opened her eyes slowly.

“Staying at the Yeich house and keeping him, choose one.” 

Claire raised her head and looked at him, her eyes filled with desperation. She had not thought of a plan, and she seemed panicked and helpless. 

The two stared at each other. Footsteps rang out on the corridor as Simon appeared in the ward with a doctor by his side. 

“Dr. Smith, we’re here.” 

Confusion flashed through Claire’s clear eyes as she looked at the two people who had suddenly appeared.

As she met Mason’s cold eyes, Claire understood. 

“Miss Schmidt, am I correct? You’re here for the abortion?” 

“No!” Claire refused loudly, her petite figure shrinking into a corner. A cloud of sadness enveloped her as she refused anyone to get near her. 

“Miss Schmidt, there will be no pain if you obey, else…” Simon had just finished speaking when several men in suits and sunglasses entered. It was clear that a plan had been made. 

If she did not cooperate, she would be forcibly brought there.

“In your dreams!” Claire bit on her lower lip and glared at the men. “Don’t come near me!” 

Looking at her, Simon shook his head helplessly. “Get her.” 

“Yes sir!”

The men immediately reacted. Nodding quickly, they said, “Understood, Young Master Yeich.” 

As he finished speaking, Mason felt someone tug on his collar. He turned around and saw Claire had opened her clear eyes. Her expression looked pitiful, like a small animal that had been abandoned. 

Her voice was weak as she begged, “Mason, let me keep him, please?” 

She fainted again after she finished speaking. Her hand, which had been tugging on the corner of his shirt, dropped along with her. 

The ward was silent. Mason sat unmoving, his deep eyes fixated on the pale, pretty face in front of him.
