Chapter 10
Logicity commented, "Isn't that obvious? Besides, this therian was poisoned by Vexoth venom a month ago, and none of Stormclaw Alliance's other females could calm him at the time. That's why he was held at the containment facility all this time."
Cute Bunny said, "Doesn't the Stormclaw Alliance have a female named Vera who's SS-grade? Didn't she try to calm the male? I saw some of them on Cosmoseek expressing regret that Scott didn't become her guardian."
Vera's Loyal Fan protested, "Vera did go! But back then, she hadn't broken through to SS-grade yet—she was just the best among S-grades. Plus, she had already exhausted a lot of her mind essence calming other males, so she wasn't able to calm Derek."
Star Troll spoke disdainfully, "Tsk tsk… If she couldn't do it, she just couldn't. Why make excuses?"
Vera's Loyal Fan retorted, "What are you barking about? I'm telling the truth. Besides, Derek was on the verge of breaking through. Isn't it normal that Vera couldn't calm him?"
Star Troll further spoke, "Tsk tsk… And yet an F-grade pure human managed to do it."
Logicity interrupted, "Enough arguing. Doesn't this prove that once pure humans awaken their mind essence, they're incredibly strong? Think about it—if an F-grade can soothe an SS-grade, imagine how powerful she'd be if she reached S- or SS-grade!"
As soon as this was said, everyone watching the stream fell silent. Even Scott, who had just come out of the car, was no exception.
Because this meant that Analise was powerful. And she had immense potential. With Analise, Stormclaw Alliance would no longer have to bow to the other alliances.
…
Meanwhile, Derek, his expression visibly tense, looked at Analise's pale face. "Are you alright?"
"I'm not dying yet." The last wisp of black energy—the Vexoth venom—was finally absorbed, and only then did Analise release Derek's wrist.
"Ms. Chamber, why do you look so pale? Are you okay? Did you overexert your mind essence?" Finlay quickly stepped forward, catching her as she swayed unsteadily.
Completely drained, Analise had no choice but to lean against Finlay. "Calming a male isn't an easy task. Do you have any food?"
"I don't…" Finlay pressed his lips together. "The containment facility should have nutrient packs. You'll have to make do with one for now to regain some strength, then I'll take you to a restaurant."
"Sounds good. Survival comes first." Analise chuckled, allowing Finlay to support her as he picked her up.
The live chat exploded.
Big Ben commented, "Lady, I'll keep my word! The most expensive starship is on its way!"
Flashing special effects flooded the screen. Some marveled at Big Ben's wealth, while others worried about Analise's condition.
Logicity spoke with concern, "She looks really pale. She must have pushed her mind essence to the limit. So, does this mean that the limit for an F-grade human female is calming an SS-grade male?"
The chat erupted in discussion, but Analise had no energy to pay attention.
Just then, Scott entered the room—right as Finlay carried Analise a few steps forward.
"I grabbed a nutrient pack on my way in. Let Ms. Chamber drink it first, then you can take her out to eat." Scott, for once, wore a serious expression.
"Thank you." Analise took the pack and drank it immediately.
The taste was awful. It was like a mix of cucumber juice and bitter melon juice. After finishing it, she noticed that Scott wasn't alone. Two other females stood behind him.
"Oh, my God, Ms. Chamber, you look so pale! Are you okay?" a wavy-haired female asked with concern as she stepped forward.
Vera's Loyal Fan commented excitedly, "Wow! Vera came, too! She must've seen the live stream and rushed over out of worry. She's so kind! She looks like a doll—so cute!"
Star Troll retorted, "Huh, convenient timing! Was absent before and after—only shows up after everything's over."
Analise glanced at the chat but didn't care. Instead, she studied Vera.
Her curls looked naturally wavy, adorned with two cute accessory clips. Her outfit was equally adorable. She hadn't expected Vera to be such a cutesy, doll-like female.
"I'm fine. Just mentally drained." Analise forced a smile.
"Alright, then. Since Vera and the other two females are here, please assist in calming the two tiger therians."
Scott's face remained cold as ever, though his tone softened slightly when addressing the females.
"Ana, go rest with Finlay first." He reached out and ruffled Analise's hair with a gentle smile.
Analise raised a brow but played along, deliberately softening her voice. "Got it, Scott."
As Finlay carried Analise into the elevator, Scott's expression completely darkened. "What the hell happened? Weren't the males always given proper sedatives and inhibitors? How did Derek suddenly break through?"
His sharp gaze locked onto Travis, his icy presence making it hard for others to breathe.
"Scott, don't blame Mr. Greenhill. It's my fault for not arriving sooner. If I had, Ms. Chamber wouldn't have overexerted herself."
Vera reached out to grab Scott's wrist, her voice soft. "They've already been through enough. Don't release more mind essence on them."
"Ms. Khielson, please have some self-respect." Scott coldly shook off her hand.
"I don't believe this was just an accident. If we don't get to the bottom of this, you'll be replaced." His gaze swept over Travis before landing on Derek.
"Go to the fourth floor to get your wounds treated. Once you're done, report to Hopkins Galaxy Lodge."
With that, Scott turned and left.
…
A restaurant in the city, Analise asked, "Finlay, what's the deal with Scott and Vera?"
After resting for a bit, Analise felt much better. Echo had even notified her that her Purification Value had reached 2,000, upgrading her Purification Heart and allowing her to claim a rank-up reward.
But with Finlay here, she decided to wait until she was alone to check it.
"Oh, them? Back when the Vexoths attacked the city, Scott saved her. After that, she kept following him around. Later, she even asked him to be her guardian, but he rejected her," Finlay answered honestly.
"Huh? I thought they'd be childhood sweethearts or something," Analise mused.
"No way. The Khielson family is one of the major families in Stormclaw Alliance, while Scott climbed his way up from an ordinary background to become the commander purely on his own strength."
Finlay waved his hand, dismissing the idea. "But Ana, you made the right call to stream today. Cosmoseek is going crazy over you now. They are realizing pure human females shouldn't be underestimated."
He scooted closer with a grin, closing the distance with Analise. From the moment Scott called Analise "Ana", Finlay started using the same nickname.
Analise didn't mind—it made things more casual. Finlay had the energy of a bright, cheerful young man, but it was different for Scott.
His choice of words felt intentional, almost like he was deliberately provoking Vera. Maybe he wanted her to give up on him?
Finlay pulled up his interface, grinning as he scrolled through the trending topics and comments. "Someone even recorded the stream—it's gone completely viral!"
