The Last Luna Stone

The altar was located on the north side of the island. Excitement bubbled inside me, and Asher as we walked hand in hand towards it.
The heavenly moon hung like a big bright orb in the sky, illuminating our path as we trotted towards it.
A white marble structure came into view which rested on a raised platform with four pillars. Three broad steps led to the platform.
The white rays of the moon bathed the whole altar in its soft glow. The fireflies danced all around it creating this mesmerising ambience about it.
“Wow! It's breathtaking,” I cried out.
“Indeed!” Asher answered, ushering me forward.
As we reached near and climbed the stairs, an old man squatting alongside one of the pillars came into view. His white beard, the same colour as the moonlight which shone brightly on him, was so long that it touched the ground.
His eyes were closed and hands clasped in front as if he was praying to the Moon goddess.
The wrinkled face was serene and peaceful.
