Chapter 53 : First kiss

MAXINE. What the hell did I just say? This statement keeps repeating in my head like some sort of a chant even as I stand in front of the gates, ready to be admitted back in. Ajax is long gone. After our conversation in the gazebo, I asked him to take me home and to leave me at the gates so I could still think about what happened. But what else is there to think about? Am I supposed to dissect Ajax’s proposition and analyze my answer? Because I don’t think I thought about anything before I opened my mouth and said yes. I have to admit it. I said yes because I was thinking of the perks that would come with being Ajax’s mate. And I suppose it wouldn’t be so bad to be with him…. I don’t know. I really don’t know.
