Chapter 33 : Main suspect
MAXINE.
A White Wolf. That’s what I am, apparently. That’s a good thing, though, right? Why is Theo acting like I’m going to come and elbow his face because of this?
“Don’t Werewolves come in all shapes and colors like humans do?” I ask in confusion, stepping away from him. “Why does it seem like that’s such a big deal?”
“It would be best for you not to reveal that to anyone,” Theo just says, acting like he never heard anything else that I said. “We need to go back now.”
“Wait,” I say, but he’s already beckoning me to follow him.
We don’t exchange a single word after that, at least not until we get back into the camp. He tells me goodbye with a small smile and my heart flares up with hope, but he just lightly brushes my shoulder before leaving for the men’s dorm.
