Chapter 21 : Blunder

AJAX. What did I just do? The words come out so confidently out of my mouth that I forget what they really mean and how heavy they really are. It all just comes crashing down on me when the guards seizze Amarantha and start to drag her out of the camp. I watch in silence as she stares at me wide-eyed, all the way to the border. Everything that happened started to flash back in my head and I can’t help but look away in shame. I just can’t believe I used my power like that. But what’s making me kick myself internally is the fact that I deviated so far away from the plan that not only do they all know me… I also fired someone who was probably appointed by my father so many years ago. “What was that?” Maxine asks in a low voice as I face her again. “What… I didn’t know you had the power to do that.” I’m not sure I do, I want to tell her.
