They must've remembered about me because both of them suddenly stopped talking and then walked away from the car to continue talking somewhere else. But I think I already heard enough of what they were arguing about that my heart almost skipped a beat. That was intense, I had to admit. But whatever the issue between the two of them, I hope that they resolve it immediately because I don't want more drama around me. I think I had enough of it for me to last a lifetime.
There was a knock on the car window and I saw Dex waving at me, motioning me to come outside. He was holding a paper bag and mouthing the word 'food.’ Dex greeted me as soon as I got out, which made me realize that he was younger than me.
