Josh Batton and the others reluctantly left the house by noon, leaving behind Xyla Quest, Stanley Batton, Wilson Batton, and Sharon Lindt in the end. Wilson couldn’t stop gazing at his grandchildren in the nursery. He picked one up and then the other, an action mimicked by Sharon. Xyla stood nearby, watching them as she smiled subconsciously. Thankfully, they’d been around her lately, so she was able to recover so quickly. The children, especially, were like medicine that could cure everything.
