Chapter 51
Alec’s POV.
I recognized the power I held at this moment. I could tell Alana's parents the whole truth, and explain why I had finally come out of hiding. But I had made a promise to Alana, and her pleading eyes right now were a silent reminder that I could never betray her.
Watching her parents' reaction was better than I had anticipated. I could see that while they wished I hadn't lied to them, they weren't exactly furious with me, which was incredible. I was slowly but surely regaining their trust. The only person left on my list was Izabel, and I couldn't help but wonder how Killian would handle that conversation. Something told me that Izabel might be more of a firecracker than Alana.
"I just hated lying to Alana for so long. I wanted to get this out as soon as possible, and it will allow me to strike even more deals," I explained, even though I knew I was being somewhat dishonest. I saw the relief wash over Alana's face.
