Alana’s POV.
I had come upstairs to ask Alec a simple question and thank him for the cookies. I thought he had heard me open the door, but he continued talking on the phone with Killian and surprised me with the truth.
I couldn't believe it. All the times I'd spoken about the enigmatic CEO, he was fully aware it was him I was talking about, yet he never once decided to tell me the truth. The lie he had fabricated with Killian, fooled both me and my parents. I was baffled and angry, and he stated he could explain. He could explain why he'd betray my trust when all I wanted was honesty between us. It was dishonesty that had ruined me and Daniel, and now Alec had been lying too.
