Chapter 34
Alec’s POV.
This was the moment of truth. I turned my gaze towards Killian, realizing that we had hoped for more time, but the prying eyes of investigators and the intrusive media had forced our hand. We had done our best to conceal and cover up our tracks, and Alana's apparent obliviousness to half of what was going on was, strangely enough, our saving grace. However, as everything began to unravel, it was time to come clean.
Alana's patience was wearing thin, and she demanded answers. Her beautiful red nails, a result of the manicure I had arranged for her, briefly distracted me. I took a deep breath and plunged into the revelation, knowing that it wouldn't be an easy conversation.
"Alana, you've heard of 'Dimensional Management Group,' right?" I inquired, aware that she was well-acquainted with the name.
"Yes, obviously," Alana responded, her tone edged with a touch of irritation.
