Chapter 100
"I've already taken the prescription to have it analyzed. If it turns out to be genuine, I'll let bygones be bygones," Clark said.
However, Judy felt a surge of anxiety.
Clark's eyes darted over a corner of the ward, where a pile of fruits and flowers lay. "Have you had a visitor today?"
Judy's heart skipped a beat, but she managed to suppress her nervousness. "A friend of mine has visited."
Clark didn't seem to dwell on it as he continued, "Since you're injured, stay in the hospital for a couple more days until you're fully recovered."
"No need. I can be discharged tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?" Clark looked at her bandaged foot, his tone firm. "That's not possible."
"I need to get back to work at the library."
"You don't have to worry about that. I've already helped you apply for leave."
At his words, Judy looked confused. Clark seemed different.
Just then, the sound of the door opening interrupted them.
"Clark, when did you arrive?" Jenna's voice broke into their conversation.
