Chapter 8 A Disaster PART 2
Cordelia tiptoed closer to the man with a face as cold as a glacier, where his eyes showed no trace of human emotion.
If Benedict were to die, Cordelia wouldn't get her mother's inheritance!
Richard rushed in with others. "Hurry, take Mr. Radcliffe to the hospital."
The group hurriedly accompanied Benedict out.
Cordelia wanted to follow, but they wouldn't let her, so she had to return to the office.
"Cordelia, you've caused a big disaster!"
"You better pack up and leave!"
Mia whispered, "We called you several times just now. Why didn't you answer?"
Cordelia realized that there were indeed calls during her game time, but she ignored them since the numbers were unfamiliar.
Now, it didn't matter if she could still stay in the company. What she worried was that if Benedict resented her for this, it could complicate their divorce.
According to her mother's will, their marriage had to last for three months...
Having caused such big trouble, everyone in the office, except for Mia, avoided talking to Cordelia. She was left alone in the office the whole day.
After work, she returned to the Radcliffes' Manor.
"Mrs. Radcliffe, why are you back alone? Didn't you come back with Mr. Radcliffe?" Victor asked.
Cordelia, looking anxious, replied, "Victor, I offended Benedict again. When he comes back, he'll probably kick me out."
Victor chuckled. "No, Mr. Radcliffe just looks stern on the surface. Just coax him a bit, and he won't be angry with you."
Cordelia's voice became more helpless. "I don't know how to coax people."
"What are your strengths, then?" Victor earnestly suggested.
Cordelia blinked with innocent eyes and pitifully said, "Does annoying people count?"
"Uh... well, that..." Victor was somewhat embarrassed.
After a moment's thought, he continued, "I know how to make Mr. Radcliffe happy. Let me tell you quietly."
Cordelia perked up her ears. She listened attentively and nodded frequently, her eyes sparkling as if enlightened.
Night fell.
Benedict, with a usually strong body, wasn't much affected. After returning from the hospital, he had been handling business in the office until now.
He pushed open the bedroom door, unexpectedly not seeing the annoying figure. Perhaps that woman was afraid of him and didn't dare to come back.
Humph, a little lesson would do her good.
Next time, she wouldn't dare to act so presumptuous in front of him.
Benedict grabbed his pajamas and entered the bathroom for a bath. But for some reason, as he relaxed, images of Cordelia holding his face with a worried and pitiful look kept appearing...
He must have been angered by this woman, leading to such a situation.
After putting on his pajamas and walking out, he saw a petite figure in front of him. The woman's face was full of smiles. "Mr. Radcliffe, you're back?"
Benedict's blood tightened in his chest. He frowned and said in a deep voice, "Why are you like a ghost, appearing out of nowhere?"
Cordelia blinked innocently, her pink lips softly approaching as she whispered, "Mr. Radcliffe, I came to apologize on purpose. Come on. Let's go to bed!"
