Chapter 127 The Accident
Cordelia had just parked the car when Victor approached her quietly. "Mrs. Cordelia, Mr. Benedict seems to be in a bad mood. Do you want to go in and talk to him?"
She glanced inside where the lights were bright enough to see Benedict's tall, aloof figure sitting on the couch. His eyes were deep, almost expressionless, but the cold aura around him was chilling.
Thinking of the conversation they had in the study, Cordelia felt a pang in her heart. Meeting him would only worsen his mood.
"I think I'll pass. Would you mind returning the car keys for me?"
Cordelia handed the keys to Victor and then turned to leave.
"Mrs. Cordelia, it's very late. Aren't you going home?" Victor called after her anxiously.
Cordelia hesitated briefly, her lashes drooping. This wasn't her home at the beginning. There was no reason for her to linger.
Without looking back, Cordelia briskly walked away.
