Chapter 3: For Another Man
Grayson stared at her closely, leaned over and gradually approached her, and uttered an extremely chilling sentence from between his lips.
"I regret that I didn't screw you to death in bed!"
He had married her for six years and she actually wanted to divorce him for another man?
Ridiculous, extremely ridiculous!
Aria's face suddenly turned pale. It was only when she felt the cold and horrible aura from Grayson in front of her that she realized how humiliating her words were to Grayson, who was all-powerful and attracted much attention.
The air seemed to have frozen. Grayson suddenly let go of Aria and looked at her without any emotion.
Aria, as if granted amnesty, gasped heavily and collapsed to the ground.
Grayson took his eyes off Aria. The more he looked at her, the worse he would feel. With a cold sneer, he strode towards the door.
Just as he was about to go out, he looked askance and said coldly, "Divorce... is no problem. I will have the lawyer draw up the divorce agreement. You won't get any money from the Harris family. This is your own choice!"
When he finished word by word, he paused, wanted to say something else, but finally said nothing, and turned around to leave resolutely.
Even if it was a threat, it was of no use to this woman.
The six years of marriage finally ended. He was still so ruthless that he trampled her dignity underfoot.
Aria clenched her fists and she almost burst into tears.
Grayson was just a distant dream to her. Now, it was time to wake up.
Coming out of the bathroom, Grayson had changed his clothes. The tailor-made black suit outlined his tall, lean and muscular figure. Aria was wearing a bathrobe with messy hair and bruises on her neck.
She held the door, staring blankly at the man beside the bed, her throat burning with pain.
Grayson didn't want to look at her anymore, picked up the key on the bedside table and left, slamming the door behind him.
The black figure disappeared from the sight, along with the air. Aria lowered her head and tears finally slid down her cheeks uncontrollably.
...
Since that day, Grayson was nowhere to be found. Aria never saw him again. She called Grayson's assistant several times, but the other end answered her mechanically. "Mr. Harris is on a business trip, madam, please call back next time."
Business trip?
For the first time, Aria went to Harris Group, of which the towering and magnificent building stood erect in the most prosperous commercial center, but she was stopped by the receptionist, "Madam, Mr. Harris told you to wait for his return at home."
Obviously, the business trip was only an excuse to avoid her.
Aria walked out of the building in a daze, looked up at the sky, and took out her cell phone from her pocket with a frown.
The phone rang a few times and was connected. Aria whispered something.
Before long, the other party called back and hung up after saying a few words.
"Heaven on Earth..." Aria considered the address reported by the person.
She hailed a taxi and left.
On the way, Aria called Riley. As soon as she got off the car, she saw Riley standing at the entrance of Heaven on Earth not far away.
The rose-red dress set off her charming beauty just right.
Aria paid the fare, raised her eyes and saw the neon lights flashing, which were extravagant and decadent.
Heaven on Earth was a prestigious entertainment place in Z City, with luxurious decorations, extravagant feasts and revelries. The people who came here were all billionaires from rich and powerful families.
The person she was looking for was inside.
She called Riley to come over because she had never been to such a place. Even if she was just standing at the door, she smelled a tangy smell of alcohol and tobacco.
Singing and dancing, luxury and dissipation.
"Hey, Aria, what has happened to you? Why do you bring me here?"
Since stepping into Heaven on Earth, Riley had been chattering incessantly.
Such a luxurious and crazy place was out of step with Aria's simplicity and tranquility.
All the way, Riley kept exclaiming. She looked around and then shouted, "Chanel bag limited edition! Aria, look, I have to sell a kidney to afford it!"
Aria gave her an angry stare, looked for the room number as she walked, and stopped outside the innermost VIP box on the second floor.
There were only waiters coming and going in the corridor, which shut out the noise inside the box. It was so quiet that the sound of needles falling to the ground could almost be heard.
Aria was standing at the door. Riley saw her put her hand on the doorknob but hesitated to enter. She mumbled in a low voice, "Aria, what are you doing? Don't you go in yet?"
Aria pressed her lips together and did not speak.
Seeing that she did not move, Riley felt puzzled, scratched her head, and snickered, "You didn't call me here to catch him, did you?"
Aria still did not speak but frowned.
Riley suddenly felt excited and thought to herself, "Holy cow! Does it have to be so exciting?"
