When we arrived at The Honeycomb, it was about to close. From the glass wall outside I could already see David mopping the floor of the restaurant, while another man was wiping some plates on the counter. I could not see Ariella so I immediately knocked on the door and entered with Adam behind me.
"Oh, it's you," David said, who looked surprised at my presence. He also glanced at Adam and then back at me with his signature calm yet douchebag smile. "What brings you here, Eli?"
"I'm looking for Ariella," I told him quickly. "I haven't been able to contact her since I left this place, and now her apartment is already empty with all her stuff gone. Do you know anything?"
"Well, yeah! She resigned from work yesterday and told us that she was leaving the town." His reply sounded like a bull of crap to me, so I pressed on,
"And where did she say she was going?"
"I have no idea," David said, crossing his arms. "She never told me where she was going. In fact, I should be the one ask
