Chapter 144 Taking Up All Her Time
The uproar grew louder and louder. Even the people upstairs were interested, poking their heads around the railing to watch.
Charlotte felt embarrassed, only wanting to leave as soon as possible.
Jason looked down to watch her expression. His Adam's apple bobbed. Finally, with a livid face, he helped her up, tugged on her hand, and pushed his way through the crowd to stride out.
There was a chorus of boos behind them. Someone yelled, "This isn't fair! She didn't even make a choice!"
Jason paused in his tracks for a moment, but he ignored the crowd.
Silas, who stayed behind, immediately received some pitying consolation. He smiled, quickly bringing the ball back to life.
Jason kept pulling Charlotte until they reached the car. He opened the door and then pressed her into the front passenger's seat without a word, fastening her seatbelt.
Charlotte stared at him and completely calmed down, apologizing, "Did I affect you guys? I'll go back first. Mr. Langley, just..."
