LUCAS POV
As I watched her shiver, I knew this was more than pregnancy sickness. She is coming down with something and it's not just morning sickness even though she tried to convince me otherwise.
She looked terrible and it was almost like the flu, a body shuddering, chills, flushed face, cold sweat and nausea.
I wrapped my arms around her and she leaned into me, taking comfort in the warmth. We sat there for a moment in silence, listening to the hum of the heater, before she spoke up again.
"I wish I could go back home."
I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes as she said those words. "I know you do," I managed to say.
"How long till the boat is ready?" she asked.
"Ten days? Maybe more."
"That's better than the last time," she said, smirking.
I nodded, trying to smile at her, even though she knew I was sad, too. I watched her stare out at the blue sky, at the waves, and she looked so beautiful.
