Chapter 4
CHAPTER FOUR
Sophia's pov
I stepped out of the car and walked towards Lucas office building.
I noticed some people staring and whistling as I walked but I paid them no mind.
Some of them go as far as taking out their phones and taking photos of me. I was used to this sort of thing, after all I was a model and flashlight is not a new thing to me.
'Pretty"
'Miss beauty"
'Hot stuff, can I snag a date?"
'Who is she? Look at her provocative attire"
'She definitely look like a slut"
'I'd bang her though, she's hot!"
"She could be a consort of Sir Lucas"
'You mean our boss has a new girlfriend?"
'You make me laugh, she's just one of those girls who always come to see him in the office"
Lucas is a disgusting piece of shit and so are his staff, I am so glad I left him as soon as possible.
Lots of their comments kept meeting my ears but I pretended as if I didn't hear a thing.
I knew what I looked like and why they kept on staring at me, I looked like a seductress about to get her next victim.
I smiled and strode boldly on my way toward the elevator which took me to the floor of Luca's office.
I spotted Lucas' ever-faithful and rude secretary, mind you she is only faithful to Lucas and his best friend who he happened to cheat on me with. She shoots up from her chair as soon as she notices me coming toward her like she had just seen a ghost.
Her eyes were bulging so much that I could see them almost pop out of their sockets.
I am sure she didn't expect to see me and most of all not dressed in this way.
I leaned against her table and smiled at her, I made sure I still carried that aura of confidence with me.
'Hello Mabel" I smiled baring my teeth at her.
She murmured something inaudible and adjusted the glasses that were sitting on the bridge of her nose.
"Is your boss in?" I asked. She kept staring at me mouth agape and I knew if I didn't talk she could keep on staring at me for hours.
"One-second ma'am." She spoke for the first time since I arrived.
She grabbed the telephone on her table with her shaky hands and began to punch in some numbers.
She kept on punching for some while and I got tired and frustrated.
I didn't wait for her anymore and I walked towards the direction of Lucas' office.
She ran after me, begging me to not go in.
I kept on walking ignoring her pleas. I pushed the door open and it flung wide for me then I stepped in.
I noticed Lucas took a look at me and he froze staring at me.
He pushed back his chair and stood up on his feet, he almost fell back into his seat when he ran his eyes over my body.
"I'm sorry, sir. I tried to stop her, I tried to…" His secretary said breathlessly.
"That's okay, thank you" He waved at her, dismissing her.
He glanced behind me and I knew he knew that it must be my lawyer.
"Wow, Sophia, this is a huge surprise seeing you here today" He chuckled. "It's been a while, I must say"
"Yes, it has. " I snapped. "And I am very sorry that this meeting didn't happen earlier, Lucas"

Lucas's pov
"Hello, I am Thomas Cooper, Miss. Miller's lawyer " the man who had walked in with Sophia introduced himself.
I didn't want the poor man to feel bad about himself so I took his hand and offered him a smile of my own.
'You are welcome, Please take a seat I don't think I need to tell you who I am, you must have gotten yourself filled with it" I said in the most cheery voice I could muster.
He sat beside Sophia, who didn't even look bothered about our little conversation and pretended as if I didn't exist.
"So, Sophia." I turned towards her. "To what do I owe this August meeting?"
'Stop bull shitting me, you received the email, I have nothing to explain to you" she said, anger clearly evident on her face.
'I guess we just have to sit and stare at each other then" I replied, taking a seat and staring at her, to show her I wasn't joking with my statement.
'What do you think, Ricardo? I am here for my children" she fired.
"Your children?" I can't help but laugh.
"I know you are not talking about Aiden and Claire, you might be talking about some other children I don't know about"
"Now I see you have totally gone off your rockers, you are an insane man" I swallowed, pretending those words didn't get to me.
Thomas cleared his throat and sent a disapproving look towards us.
'I guess I have to be the bigger person here, since you both chose to be stubborn," he said, making me pull my gaze away from Sophia.
'We are only here because Miss Miller wants the custody of her children" he uttered the most annoying words into my ears.
'And that would only happen when I am dead," I said. There is no way in hell I am going to let Sophia take my kids away from me.
'Then I guess, you inform everyone to get ready for your funeral, because you will be dead soon," Sophia said, holding a challenging gaze with me.
'Do not dare me, Sophia, I am more than capable of what you don't know" I threatened.
'Your threats don't scare me, Lucas, you are like a dog that barks but doesn't bite" she said which earned a laugh from me.
I can see all those years apart have been spent on making her who this woman is sitting right in front of me.
'You are not in the right state or shape to raise kids" I pointed out to her dress.
'You have no right to tell me what I can and cannot do," she growled, making me laugh.
She was like a little puppy baring it's teeth at the lion.
"Can't you see that she is not in the right shape to take care of my children?" I said to her Lawyer.
I pointed at her. "look at what she is putting on for fucks sake, how does she plan to raise up the kids in a decent way?" I added.
"Oh, please. You can't deny how much you want to be so bad, but that would only be something you would think of but will never have" her statement incited a laughter from me.
'You and I know that I will be a better parent than you will ever be" she said and I smiled, shaking my head at her.
'You want to be a parent to the kids you abandoned for three years? Huh? The kids who can't recognize who you are anymore? Or the kids you don't know what their favorite meal is, now tell me how you can be a better parent to them?" I fired at her, I was beginning to get irritated by her thinking she would raise Aiden and Clara better than I would.
A knock on the door interrupted her from talking, as her mouth hung open, the door opened and the person I had been expecting walked in. He had a briefcase in his hand and was in a two-piece black suit.
"Finally." I muttered 'I was beginning to think you wouldn't come"
'I am really sorry, I got caught up in traffic" he apologized.
'Well then, let's get to business" I said.
"I'm so sorry for coming late, the meeting was impromptu and the traffic wasn't nice either" He apologized to Sophia and her lawyer which was unnecessary since I was the one paying him and they had set an impromptu meeting.
"I am Bradley Smith and I am Mr. Anderson's legal representative" he introduced.
He shakes hands with Thomas, Sophia's lawyer and gives a nod to Sophia before having his seat.
He takes out a few documents from his briefcase and hands them to Thomas.
Mr. Thomas dropped the document on the table.
'My client here wants the custody of her kids and not this" he stated.
'Well, Mr. Thomas, I can't release my kids to her" I stated plainly.
'I don't care how you want to do it Lucas, but I will have custody of my kids," Sophia said.
"I don't have the time to throw banters with you, I am a very busy man as you know, since I can see that you guys aren't willing to settle this amicably. Then I think we should take this to court" I stated, going back and forth with Sophia was the least of things in my mind.
'You fucking asshole! Court it is then" Sophia yelled.
"Fine, see you in court" I shrugged.
"Since we all agreed to meet in court then the evidence of divorce needs to be provided" Brad said and I froze.
Divorce? I and Sophia stared at each other. It just dawned on us that we weren't divorced.
"We are not legally divorced yet. We are just separated" I explained.
"I can still go ahead to get custody right?" Sophia asked.
'You both are still married under the law and that means that none of you can file for child custody until fully divorced" Thomas breaks to the both of us.
