Cameron’s POV
It was different this time.
The moon shone brightly overhead as he stood in an unending field of silver grass. The aroma of pine and lavender wafted on a gentle breeze.
Then they emerged from the darkness. His parents.
His mother appeared just as he had imagined, with her silver eyes gleaming with sorrow and her golden hair cascading behind her.
Beside her, tall and powerful, his father wore the wolves' regal crest.
Cameron's chest became constricted.
They were stunning. They were also deceased. "Cameron." His mother spoke in a soft yet firm tone.
His throat was dry as he swallowed. "Mom?"
She started crying. "My son, you must pay attention to us. The moment is approaching.
Cameron scowled. "What is the time for?"
His dad came forward. "To occupy your proper position."
Cameron sounded forceful as he shook his head. "I'm not interested in it. I have no desire to rule as king.
His father's face grew serious. "Cameron, this is not about what you want."
