Emilia’s POV
From her touch, a warmth crept into my chest and into my spirit. It was strong, yet it wasn't painful.
My head was filled with images of secret passageways, old inscriptions etched into stone, and a glistening lake in the middle of the mountains. It was as though a map was being woven into my memory, only to surface when I was most in need of it.
My knees almost gave out when she finally withdrew her hand.

She gave a nod. "All right. Bring Ivana and Nimue along. You and they will both be safe there.
I paused. "How about Cameron?"
She saw a shadow move over her eyes. "He's not prepared. You're not either.
I was twisted with frustration. However, I must save him! He's—
"If you are not strong enough to fight what is coming, you cannot save him."
She said something that was like a slap.
Although I wanted to protest and insist that Mom allow me pursue Cameron at this time, I knew in my heart that she was correct.
