Emilia’s POV
With my fists clenched so hard that my nails were digging into my hands, I ran out of the training hall. The harsh lesson left my entire body hurting, but I wasn't troubled by the discomfort. It was the giggling. The hushed remarks. I felt like I didn't belong here based on the way the other students regarded me. As if I would never.
I tried to ignore the fury that was building inside of me by biting my lip, but it didn't work. The rage, a raw and violent thing that would not go away, clawed at my chest.
Never in my life had I felt so ashamed.
From behind me, a voice I recognized snarled, "You should just quit."
When I turned back, I saw a smug grin on the face of one of Nimue's best students.
