CHAPTER 43: SHIFTING
EMILIA’S POV
For the first time in a long time, it wasn't simply my voice that screamed through me. Something more fundamental and profound was involved. And the ground underneath me trembled as it burst from my chest, the air crackling with energy.
An intense wave of power rushed through me with a rapid surge. My bones let out a cry. My muscles twisted. It was as like someone was burning my skin from the inside out. Something shifted, something broke, and I let out a painful scream before everything came to a halt.
The audience let out a gasp, and their voices abruptly stopped. There was a heavy, suffocating hush for a moment.
Then there was light.
Bright. Even with my eyes closed, I could feel how brilliant it was. It seemed as though it was attempting to tear every part of me from my body by burning through my skin and bones. However, I remained motionless. I was unable to. The overpowering intensity of whatever was going on inside of me paralyzed me.
It rushed through my vein
