Chapter 4: Rescuing the Daughter
"Lucy, you can't go! I know what kind of person Tom is. If you go, what about me? What about Tangna?"
Susan knew exactly what kind of monster Tom was.
"Wait, let me go home and ask my father for help. I can't believe he would ignore something like this!"
Susan didn't let Lucy leave. She brought her to the sofa and rushed out. But Lucy had no intention of staying put. She knew Tom well; if he gave her an ultimatum, he would harm Tangna if she didn’t go.
Tangna was her most precious daughter. If something happened to her, Lucy would rather die. Besides, convincing Susan's father wouldn't be simple. What if Tangna was hurt before Susan could persuade him?
Looking at herself in the mirror, Lucy thought, "I must handle my own problems. If I involve Susan, it would only be my fault."
With this resolve, she left her house and took a taxi to the location Tom had specified. She was prepared to die as long as Tangna could return home safely.
At the same time, Tangna was picking up the moldy cereal from the ground.
"Ha! This kid is eating like a dog!"
"I wonder what her mom looks like to make the boss like her so much."
"If the boss allows, I'd like to taste this little girl too."
"Hey, you're a pervert..."
"I was just saying."
Several muscular black men surrounded the cage, taunting the poor girl. Tangna, already on the verge of collapse, felt nauseous. Her weak stomach reacted, and she lay down, pale and sweating.
Seeing her collapse, the men were shocked.
"Is she dead? No way!"
"What now? The boss wanted to keep her alive."
"We might ruin the boss's plans."
One man started to undress, planning to wake Tangna with his urine.
"She’s not dead yet. Watch, I’ll wake her with this!"
Before he could act, a roaring engine approached.
"What’s that? Is the boss back?"
The sound grew louder, and they curiously looked outside. Suddenly, a Hummer crashed through the fence, splintering the wood and killing one of the men instantly. The remaining men tried to react, but the Hummer's sharp turn knocked them all down.
The man who had undressed was mangled, his body a bloody mess. His flesh was turned to mush.
But it wasn’t over yet.
The car door opened, revealing a pair of polished shoes. Out stepped a furious Joseph, who walked straight to the cage. Inside, the girl had his nose and lips, and Lucy's face and big eyes. She was undoubtedly his daughter.
Seeing his daughter in a dog cage filled Joseph with rage. He pocketed his gun; these men didn’t deserve a quick death.
One man attempted to shoot Joseph from behind, but Joseph, seemingly sensing it, turned and punched the man so hard his eyeballs popped out. He continued beating the man, venting his anger until the man's body was a pulp.
The remaining men, horrified, tried to flee. But Joseph wouldn’t let anyone who harmed his daughter escape.
"You will all die!"
The name "Reaper" wasn’t just for show. Joseph threw four knives, each embedding in the men's chests.
Blood spurted instantly.
Joseph approached, ensuring the knives were deeply embedded. Three men died instantly, but he twisted the knife in the fourth, prolonging his agony.
"Who ordered you to do this to the child?"
The man, in agony, quickly confessed.
"Don't kill me! It was Tom! He’s at the villa, with a woman named Lucy! The address is on the table!"
Joseph ended the man's life swiftly, then impaled the men's heads on the fence as a warning. He called on his AI phone.
Samael answered promptly.
"Reaper!"
Joseph gave him the villa's address and added, "From now on, call me Mr. Joseph. Go to the villa, rescue Lucy, and capture Tom."
"Yes!"
Samael replied with utmost respect.
Joseph hung up and gently lifted Tangna from the cage.
"My sweet daughter, I’m sorry. I was too late and you suffered so much."
Seeing her mouth still stained with stomach bile tore at his heart.
"Tom, you will pay!"
