On the other end of the phone, Helen lifted her head smugly. An old woman trying to best her? Impossible!
“What do you mean by ‘being ruthless’?”
At that moment, a cold, familiar voice cut in, making Helen jump like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
Helen shrieked, “Irene! I’ve been more than kind to you! I raised you for so many years, and you still side with her? This is my last warning: stay away from us!”
With that, Helen angrily hung up the phone.
She looked at her reflection in the mirror, a well-maintained, beautiful woman, and flashed a satisfied smile.
She had pretended to anxiously call and warn Madame Kashi, but in reality, she didn’t take the two women seriously.
