The boy heard Emma's words and looked over, his eyes red.
Irene patted Emma's shoulder, and Emma hid behind Irene, peeking out.
"Sorry, my sister just saw it online, she didn't mean anything by it."
The boy hoarsely said, "Those damned media! Just because I don't like to talk, they made me out to be a gloomy lunatic who wanted to kill the first-place student because I always came in second!"
Irene frowned slightly.
The boy's emotions were not fake, she could tell.
"The police wouldn't call you in for questioning based on unfounded guesses."
"They said the surveillance showed that the last thing he drank was a drink I handed him." The boy's mood fell.
His hair covered his face, exuding a quiet, melancholic air.
Irene gently patted his head.
