"Zoya, finish your breakfast. Mommy will take you to the school today."
Zoya chewed her bread slowly, while her other hand held a cup of milk.
The landline on the living room table suddenly rang, leaving Sabrina puzzled.
The number for this landline was known only to family members, except for Nicole.
But Nicole wouldn't contact her through this line.
"Hello?"
"Hello, is Zoya there?"
The voice on the other end sounded mature yet hearty.
Sabrina switched to hands-free mode and called out to Zoya.
Zoya skipped over.
"Hello?"
"Zoya, we'll be able to meet soon."
Mr. Ferguson's voice sounded cheerful, as if chatting with a friend, which surprised Sabrina.
When did Zoya make friends with someone so much older?
"I know, old chap." Zoya replied disdainfully.
Mr. Ferguson wasn't surprised or upset by Zoya's attitude.
Sabrina frowned as she looked at Zoya. "Darling, who is this?"
"Mr. Ferguson, a friend of mine when I was abroad."
