  It took us a little longer than expected to find the entrance. There were a few guards, but we dealt with them. A good portion of the pack was there. We were a good team of wolves and humans, all together to find Sarah. 
  There was this long corridor and at the end seemed to be a big room. I could hear sounds coming from it. That's when she spoke to me, that's when I heard her saying she was going to die. I couldn't hold my wolf anymore. I turned into my wolf form and ran as fast as I could. Zach knew what it meant. He led the pack towards the room, behind me. 
  As I arrived in the room, I saw Sarah on an altar at the center, Keven was about to stab her with a dagger in the chest. I let Zach and the pack deal with the wolves that were all around the room. I jumped between Keven and Sarah with a threatening growl. 
  There was no way I was letting him harm my mate.

  ************ Sarah's POV ************
  A
   lot had happened since that day. After the battle we went back to Sam's parents' house. We were injured but we were fine. They sent some members of the pack to clean up the mess and then seal the sepulcher, hoping no one would have the idea to go there again. 
  With the respect gained from the fight, and the courage and strength that he showed, it was decided Sam would become the Alpha. His father stepped down as the Alpha and began teaching his son, showing him what it means to be a good Alpha. I had no doubts he would do great. As for myself, Sam's mom has been teaching me what it means to be a Luna. 
  At work, we had to think of a reason for Marissa and Keven not to show up at work anymore. We've told the other employees that they had decided to go live abroad and couldn't work for us anymore. Of course, employees that were members of t

  It was Monday morning already. I felt like the sun rose too early, I could have stayed in bed for a few more hours. But after an extra-long weekend, I needed to get ready for work. I kissed Sam and hugged him tight, breathed his scent of a man that I love so much. 
  I went to get dressed. It was supposed to be a beautiful sunny day today, so I decided to put on my lovely white summer dress with red flowers on it. I loved this dress so much! It was mostly white on top, with no sleeves. Then on the way down, it became flowy with flowers. I thought it was quite elegant and fun at the same time. I got my hair up in a bun and looked around to see Sam staring at me.
  &quot;Wow! You are too pretty to go to work,?? he said in a husky voice as he got close to me. 
  I blushed at his comment and laughed. &quot;Thanks, but you know we need to go, right??? 
  He nodded even though I knew he wished we could take more days off instead of going to work. We ate breakfast and went to work. 
  Since we all worked at the same place, and that Sam, Zach, Marissa, Keven and I were gone since last Thursday, it was decided that we'd tell the other staff that we were working on the new game's marketing. A sort-of company brainstorm retreat for the new game. That way people wouldn't ask too many questions. 
  Everyone accepted that explanation quite easily although I could see a few familiar faces that I've met at Sam's parents' house during the weekend with a smile on their faces. They wouldn't say anything. They knew they needed to keep wolves a secret from the other humans that were working for the company. 
  We all went to our workstations. I was a little nervous since last time I came to work I was attacked. It was decided that I was riding the car with Sam at all time, since anyway we lived together now. 
  It was a relief that I wouldn't have to get to the parking lot alone or the subway. 
  I was feeling quite insecure with everything that has happened. Luckily, I also had Zach's desk right beside mine. As Suzan explained to me this weekend, Zach is the best fighter of the pack. He's a sort of bodyguard. Other than the Alpha and Beta, he is one of the strongest of the pack. Now I understood why Sam asked him to watch over me when he couldn't be there with me. 
  My day was going well, it was already afternoon. Marissa came by my desk. 
  &quot;Hey Sarah, I need your input about the new game's marketing. We have an idea for the photo shoot, and I need to show you a few places we are considering. Are you free??? 
  It didn't really go well with Marissa this weekend. I didn't like her a lot but then again, she seemed better today, and she was my boss. Plus, I was the one doing the marketing on the new video game so, of course, she needed my input. 
  I looked at her suspiciously. As if she read my mind she added, &quot;Look, I'm sorry for what happened this weekend. I was not feeling right. Can we put that past us??? 
  I guess I didn't really have a choice. She his Sam's cousin so I'll keep seeing her anyway. I might as well try. 
  &quot;Yeah, no problem, no hard feelings.?? 
  I answered trying to smile at her. 
  She smiled and asked, &quot;Ready to go??? 
  Technically, Sam asked me not to leave without him, and Zach was not at his desk. I wasn't really leaving alone either, Marissa was part of the pack, so I guess it was all right. We would be back before the end of the day anyway. 
  I picked up my purse and answered, &quot;Yes I am,?? while getting up.
  I followed Marissa to her car. I was searching for my phone in my purse to send a text to Sam so that he wouldn't worry, when suddenly I felt a hand on my mouth, coming from someone behind me. I started to panic and try to get myself free, but a strange smell was coming from the hand and I was getting dizzy. I caught Marissa's smiling face as my eyes began to close.
  ************ Sam's POV ************
  The day was going well so far, and I got a lot of work done. I was almost finished making up for the work of the days that I had missed. My phone started ringing. It was my father's number, which is strange since he rarely called me.
  &quot;Hi Dad, what's up??? 
  &quot;Hi Son, are you all right??? 
  His voice sounded worried; it was not like him to worry like that. &quot;Yes, I am, why??? 
  &quot;Thank god! Is Sarah all right too? And Zach??? 
  I was getting worried now, I cut him and said, &quot;Yes, as far as I know everyone is all right. Would you mind telling me what's going on??? 
  I heard him sigh on the phone, &quot;You're right. I really need to tell you. Remember we were searching who the people who attacked Sarah were??? 
  My heart tensed as I heard those words, I could feel my heartbeat going up and the adrenaline rising in my veins, my wolf wanting to come out. 
  &quot;Well, as it turns out, we were able to find a link between those guys and Keven. We think he might have hired them to attack Sarah but we're not quite sure why. There is no doubt that he was the one ordering it. So as of today, he will be banned from the pack.?? 
  Damn, what the hell is going on with this wolf? He seemed like a good guy all those years. 
  &quot;Okay thanks Dad.?? I told him, &quot;I really need to check if Sarah's safe and to warn Zach about Keven.?? 
  &quot;Okay son, take care.?? He told me before hanging up.
  I stormed out of my office and went straight to Sarah's desk, but she wasn't there. Her stuff was still there but her purse was not there. I wondered where she could be. 
  Zach was at his desk, he looked at me and asked, &quot;Hey, is everything okay? You look worried.?? 
  I looked at him and answered, &quot;No it's not. The guys who attacked Sarah, it was Keven who hired them.?? 
  Zach's eyes went wide. With the ruins and now leading the attack against my mate, Keven was now my enemy. If I were to find him, I would kill him myself. I knew in the state I was I wouldn't be able to control my wolf. If I saw him, I would surely go into a bloodlust. But I didn't care. 
  &quot;Where is Sarah? Why are you not with her??? I asked Zach. 
  He looked a little scared and answered, &quot;I had a meeting earlier. When I came back, she wasn't there. I didn't think I had to worry, I just thought she went for a walk.?? 
  I took my phone out and tried to call Sarah but got no answer. Then I tried to concentrate and to her through her mind, but it didn't work. That wasn't normal, that wasn't good. Our bond was strong, it was easy to talk to her through my mind. If that wasn't working, then there was a problem. 
  &quot;Zach, we need to go, something's wrong with Sarah. We need to find her, now.?? 
  Zach stood up and said, &quot;Don't worry man, we'll find your mate. I have a hunch I know just where to search for her.?? 
  I looked at him. I knew exactly what he had in mind, the ruins of the ancient pack. Keven was seen with other wolves searching for the sepulcher of Eurynomos. Of course, that's where he would have taken her. I didn't know why he would bring her there, but whatever the reason, I only knew it wasn't a good thing. 
  My wolf wanted to come out so bad. But I knew we needed to go by car, it would be way faster than to run as a wolf. I kept him under control with that reasoning. I couldn't go save my mate if I was in my wolf form, not right now anyway. On our way, we called every wolf of the pack that we could. Soon, the whole cavalry was on their way to the ruins. 
  ************ Sarah's POV ************
  My head was hurting, and I was feeling dizzy. I looked around me, but my vision was still a little blurry. I tried to remember what had happened, all I remembered was blackness. I looked around me. I was in a dark room with no window and as far I could see, I was locked in. I stumbled in the dark and heard a woman's voice coming from the other side of the door. I recognized Marissa's voice. 
  That's when I remembered going with her for the marketing of the game, the hand on my mouth, the strange smell and then the blackout. I needed help! I needed Sam. I tried to concentrate on him and speak to him through our bond, but I couldn't. My mind was still fuzzy. Whatever they did to me, it blocked my bond with my mate. That though stressed me even more. I looked around myself, but my purse was not there either. I didn't have access to my phone. I was alone in a dark cell and couldn't call anyone for help. I started getting really scared.
  As my eyes were getting used to darkness, the door opened. Marissa and Keven entered the room. 
  I looked at Marissa and asked, &quot;What the hell do you want with me??? 
  She looked at me with disdain. &quot;Shut up wench. I didn't say you had the right to speak.?? 
  She came closer to me and cupped my hands together. 
  &quot;What have I ever done to you anyway??? I asked.
  She slapped my face so hard my head turned. I could feel my nose bleeding. 
  &quot;You humans are worthless and weak. Wolves should be ruling humans as they are stronger. They shouldn't mix and even less have a human as a Luna. 
  This is pathetic and it leads to weak hybrids being born.?? 
  How could she say that? I loved Sam and he loved me, it didn't matter he was a wolf, and I was human. Plus, Sam's mom was human. How could she speak like that of her leader? 
  &quot;Isn't your current Luna a human? How dare you speak of her that way? I think the Alpha will be pissed at you.?? 
  She spitted at my face, &quot;Don't worry, we won't let them find out.?? 
  Then she stopped, took a smell at me and stepped back. 
  She looked at Keven and screamed, &quot;He even got the bitch pregnant already!?? 
  Keven shrugged his shoulders. 
  &quot;It won't matter soon anyways.?? 
  He pulled me on my feet by the arm and pulled me to a big room not far. I tried to resist but he was way too strong for me.
  The room was vast and lit by ancient brick fire pits. At the center of the room was an altar and strange symbols were drawn everywhere on the walls. 
  &quot;Where are you bringing me??? I asked.
  Marissa kicked me in the stomach, sending me to the ground. 
  &quot;Shut up, you're no match for me bitch.?? 
  I coughed blood on the floor. Keven looked at me and then at Marissa and said, &quot;Careful, we need her alive.?? 
  Marissa snorted &quot;You're right. She's not useful to start with, better keep her alive so at least she's not totally worthless.?? 
  They pulled me out to the altar and tied me onto it. Marissa hit me in the face, getting blood to drop from my mouth. 
  &quot;We'll be back for you when the sun set. I'm going to enjoy this.?? Then they both exited the room.
  I was alone and scared. If only I could have Sam by my side right now. Tears began falling from my cheeks. All I could think of is how I loved him and wanted to be by his side, with my baby growing in my belly. 
  &quot;Sam, where are you??? I asked through my mind. 
  For the first time since I woke up, I felt that I reached him. A glimpse of hope came to me. 
  &quot;Sarah! Finally!! Where are you??? I heard through my mind. 
  &quot;Sam!! I am, well I don't know where I am?? I'm in a big room ?? there are drawings everywhere on the walls. They tied me to an altar.?? 
  &quot;I know where you are babe, I'm coming, hang on.?? 
  Sam was coming! That was encouraging. 
  &quot;Sam, you have to hurry! They will be back at sunset.?? 
  There was a delay &quot;Don't worry babe, we're coming, I won't let you down.?? 
  After that there was not much more to say. I prayed that Sam would get here fast enough.
  A few hours must have passed by. Slowly, some people started coming in. Some of them were in human form, and some of them were in wolf form. They took place all over the room, whispering. I couldn't hear what they said. 
  &quot;Help! Please someone help,?? I cried. 
  But no one came to help me. They just stood there watching. Some of the faces I recognized seeing at work, maybe one or two even at Sam's parents' house. 
  It seemed they were all spectators and none of them intended to help. 
  From behind the altar, Keven and Marissa came in the rooms. 
  &quot;My friends,?? said Marissa with a strong voice, &quot;our time hiding from humans is over. Soon, we will have the power to overcome them all and lead the world as we rightfully should.?? 
  A man came and drew a strange symbol on the floor. Keven stood tall near the symbol and started an incantation in a language I didn't understand.
  Suddenly fire started to erupt from the symbol on the floor. The room went silent as a strong force rose from the symbol. It looked like a tall man with dark ebony-black skin and long teeth sticking out of his mouth. His nails looked sharp like razors. 
  &quot;Who dares to call me??? asked the creature. 
  Keven took a step closer &quot;Eurynomos! I called you forth as I need your powers.?? 
  The demon had a wicked smile on his face. 
  &quot;I will lend you my powers, but you know what must be given, don't you??? 
  I didn't like where this was going. I was still tied to the altar and got a feeling it involved me. 
  &quot;Yes, oh mighty one. We prepared a sacrifice for you.?? 
  Keven turned and looked at me with soulless eyes.
  As he came my way, my heart started beating faster. Is this how it's going to end? I don't want to. All I could think of was this baby growing in my belly. Tears began to flow down my cheeks. Oh Sam if only you were there. 
  I concentrated on him and told him through his mind, &quot;I'm sorry I won't make it to see you?? I wish you would be here. I love you??
  I closed my eyes and braced for the blow that was coming.
