Everyone's expressions darkened instantly when those words left my mouth.
Ophelia sneered. "Yes, I must be more discerning this time. I can't afford to end up with another scumbag again!"
Hayden was secretly pleased to hear her say that.
Ophelia was probably reminded of the past. Her mood darkened instantly before she stood up and said, "Let's call it a day then. I'm going to the restroom."
With that, everyone began to disperse. I intended to follow Ophelia, but she glared at me. "Don't follow me! I don't want to see you right now!"
I knew my earlier comment had made her angry, so I stayed in a corner of the banquet hall and waited for her to return.
I went to grab something to eat and wandered over to the table filled with drinks while waiting for her. I decided to pour myself a glass of wine.
