When Ophelia noticed that I was sneaking glances at them, she gave a cold, mocking smile. At that moment, Hayden was busy looking at his phone, so he was unaware of our silent exchange.
Suddenly, Ophelia said, "Hayden, if we were to get married, your family should definitely come, right?"
"Yeah, they should all be there," he replied.
"But I don't see one name on the guest list. Should we maybe send an invite?"
Hayden froze for a moment and then looked up in surprise. Was she talking about me?
He turned to Ophelia, clearly taken aback. "Who are you talking about? Are you referring to Thaddeus?"
Ophelia responded calmly, "Well, he should count as part of your family, right?"
"Yes," Hayden said, his voice a little strained. "But he left the family long ago, and you know everything he's done. There will be a lot of high-profile people by then. If he comes, I'm afraid he might embarrass us."
