Chapter 2
ADAM
TRINITY RESTAURANTE 9: AM
Years later, Adam was still unable to carry on with his life because he was still grieving the loss of the woman he had loved his entire life.
"It's nine o'clock in the morning, Adam! What we discussed was right on time, and what do you think you're wearing today? I'm not sure if you're still alive or dead, but the security guard will almost never let you in because of what you're wearing. You didn't even prepare to come here, you didn't shave your mustache, and did you ever come with your scissors?" he exclaimed, staring at me as if I were a hermit.
"It's too early for wise words, Scott; why did you call me?" I skipped right to the question because I didn't want to deal with him any longer; he's starting to annoy me.
"Your head is getting too hot," he remarked sarcastically.
"You know these hours are tough traffic, Scott," I said, putting my hands on my head.
"We have a mission, Adam, and we need your help. And you are the only person I thought could do this job," he said, as a seemingly folding folder appeared behind him.
"I'm leaving," I declared emphatically.
"You can't-," I cut off his next words, knowing exactly where this is going.
"Are you serious?"
"Why?" he pondered after hearing what I had said.
"I don't have an appetite for these," I replied, but he didn't seem to agree.
"Is it because of her?" he inquired, his gaze drawn to the ring on my finger.
"Don't bring her here," I retorted, but he just stared at me as if I were insane.
"Adam, you haven't married yet! So, what's the deal with that ring?" On his face, he cried out in rage and pity. I know I shouldn't be wearing it, but it's the only thing keeping my faith in her.
'Look! Look at yourself in the mirror, Adam, you've changed. "Do you think she'll be happy in your current situation?"
"We were married in my heart, and I knew Mirana was still alive in my heart. I know that, call me crazy or whatever, but I can't help but think of her every day, you have no idea what I am going through, let me be, just please let me be," I said, my voice full of hope.
"It's been two years, Adam, two years." "We both saw the ashes, so let's move on," he said as if he were speaking to a child.
"That isn't easy. I have to leave," I said, making a fist with my hands, causing my knuckles to turn white.
I walked out of the restaurant without waiting for his response.
"I knew she'd come back for me," I grumbled as I opened the door to my car.

MARINA
CANADA 8:45 PM
"Marina, please, I beg you!" My twin sister was sobbing.
"I can't," I said, despite the fact that it hurts me to see her in this situation.
"Marina," she sobbed as she called out.
"Why me, Mirana?" Why don't you just show up to him? You're complicating your situation, and who is this person?" As I assisted her in sitting, I inquired.
"The person who gave me the ring," she said, wiping her tears away with the back of her hand.
"Adam," I'm not sure, but what she said makes my heart ache. Adam proposed marriage to her. I've adored him since I was a child.
'Yes"
"So, what's the deal with you hiding?" Why are you spreading false information about your death? Mirana, you said you love him as well! How come you're sending me to him?" I asked her a question because I couldn't understand her.
She didn't say anything, but instead sobbed and clutched my hands. I feel bad for my twin sister.
"Mirana, tell me so I can understand and possibly help you," I said as I wiped her tears away.
As she leaned over my shoulder, she hugged me tightly.
"Does it have anything to do with Marco?"
"Marco called. He said he wanted us to restart," she said quietly.
"My God, Mirana, I thought you'd learned your lesson after Marco betrayed you so many times, and yet you're still forgiving him even though it means hurting someone else who loves you. Mir, Adam loves you," it's difficult for me to say those words to her, but it's the right thing to do.
"I can't, Marina; I love Marco, so I need your assistance. Go to my house and act like I'm there. Please introduce yourself as I am," she said, her eyes welling up with tears.
"How come Mirana?" "Why should I?"
'Separate?" I expressed my disbelief that my brain couldn't process her words and that I couldn't believe her.
"Yes, Marina," she said as she looked me in the eyes, tell him I don't love him and I don't need him anymore."
"Don't be such a jerk to him. And, besides, he loves you, and it is not fair to him if you split up for no reason. He assumed you were dead, that you were gone for good. Then I'll appear? What if everything goes wrong or becomes even more complicated?"
"Marco is a wealthy man, and there is no reason for him to be aware that I am still alive. Marina, two years have passed and I believe he has moved on," she said, as if she didn't care.
"What if he's still there?" Hoping you'll come back for him someday."
"Would you please do it for me, Marina?" "It's only for a short time that you won't have to put up with him," she begged, and I couldn't help but ask her.
"Does he know who I am?" I asked, despite the fact that I can't bear hearing her response.
"Not yet," she says.
"When am I going to leave?" I inquired as I examined my own reflection in the mirror.
If becoming a shadow of her means getting close to him, I'll take the risk.
"The next day, Marina, I will handle everything," she said, and a new aura replaced her frail appearance.
"All right," I finally gave up. It's only temporary and won't last long. And I'm expecting her to say whatever she says.
Adam had been my first love since I was thirteen years old. Mirana and him were best friends at the time, and I couldn't show myself to him because Mirana didn't want me to befriend him. She claims she only wanted to protect me, but I know she doesn't want me; she doesn't want to have a twin sister. I'm not surprised that Adam is unaware that Mirana has a twin sister, who happens to be me.
I'll never forget the first time we held each other's hands. Mirana and she were playing in the backyard when Mirana left to make some snacks and juice for the two of them.
I'd just stepped out of our room. As I approached the door, I was tiptoeing in the middle of the stairs. Someone is holding my hand; my body stiffened as soon as I heard the voice of the person who is now holding my hand.
"Mirana, come on over, I have something to show you," he said eagerly.
I quickly removed my hand from his grasp. I dashed to my room, ignoring his calls to my sister's name.
Mirana waited for Adam to leave before storming into our room, enraged. She screamed and yelled what would happen if Adam discovered they were twins and caught me. She was in a bad mood at the time.
And now she needs my support. I'm going to see Adam again. I want this one, but only to be a shadow of my twin sister.
