Chapter 19 Give Me Some Time
Finally managing to breathe some air, Annie panted roughly, her mouth open wide. She also felt dizzy and her heart was pounding, like it was about to leap out of her throat.
Myles was used to getting whatever he wanted. He did not think much of it and did not even give Annie more time to recover before pulling her out of the car by her arm.
Hugh, who had been driving the car, had stepped out to guard the car ages ago. By either side of the entrance, there were rows of bodyguards dressed smartly in suits and leather shoes, holding their positions vigilantly. Upon seeing Myles step out of the car, they bowed neatly.
Without a word, just that single bow showcased their imposing manner.
The large metal gates did not have many flowery carvings, and portrayed solemn heaviness, just like the feeling Myles gave off.
Myles kept hold of Annie’s wrist, pulling her into another car that weaved through a near 500-hundred-meter wide garden. The scenery was incredibly beautiful, as if they were driving through a botanical garden.
In a city like City A where an inch of land was worth its weight in gold, to be able to buy a house was already a hard-fought goal for most people. Meanwhile, Myles had casually purchased such a large villa located near the city center.
Before Annie could even sigh, Myles’ empty hand suddenly reached around hers, and he attached his handsome face to hers.
“Ungh…”
This kiss caught Annie off guard and made her feelings that had just settled down be one edge once again. She braced one hand against his chest, while the other was tightly gripped in his.
Myles knew he had picked up a treasure, but he never thought Annie’s taste could so infatuate him.
Already in a daze, Annie’s body was limp in his embrace, her attractive eyes becoming blurry.
“Close your eyes.”
He carried Annie up horizontally, his face maintaining its ice-cold expression. Only he knew he was already about to fall.
“You’re back.”
A few women dressed in maid outfits stood by the doors of the main residence. The one taking the lead was a capable middle-aged woman in a suit.
Seeing Myles carry a dainty woman out of the car, she was so shocked that she almost found the situation perilous.
Aside from Ms. Rowan from before, Myles had never brought another woman back home, let alone carry one in his arms.
“Indeed.”
Myles did not stop walking. His feelings were restless now, and he was not in the mood to introduce Annie to them. However, it was exactly this attitude of his that made everyone else present have conflicted feelings.
Myles carried Annie straight up to the master bedroom on the second floor. The room had been tidied spick and span. Myles tossed Annie directly onto a large bed that had no creases whatsoever.
Her two hands pushed against Myles’ chest, her face bright red, and her large eyes filled with panic.
“M… Myles Jennings… Let go of me first.”
Annie panted roughly and pushed Myles as she tried to reason with him.
Myles’ movements paused as he was shoved. His wicked eyes had taken on a dangerous expression, and his bright red lips were like blossoming, flirtatious flowers.
“You are my wife.”
These few simple words made Annie feel like she had fallen into an icy river, a bone-chilling cold running down her spine.
Yes, she was Myles’ wife by law now. Was he reminding her that this was her duty?
Even so… “I’m not ready yet. Give me some time.”
This development was too fast. She had only met Myles three times and had been promoted from boyfriend and girlfriend to husband and wife. Now she had to surrender to him the chastity she had protected for twenty years…
