Chapter 12 Let's Get Married
Even after she walked out of the hotel, Annie still did not know what to think.
The persistent man repeated himself, "My girlfriend, did you bring your household registration book?”
Recently, his family had been nagging him to get a girlfriend so he did not want to miss out on the chance of getting a lovely woman like her.
"I didn’t, why?”
Annie let go of Myles as soon as she walked out of the hall. Even though that slap felt very good, she knew that she would be in trouble soon. Either Susie and her daughter would give her more trouble or even worse, James might pull Sharon into the mess.
‘Ah, yes. Although we shouldn’t do things on a whim just because we feel like it, I have no regrets crashing the wedding.’
Annie was still trying to wrap her head around the situation and was not paying attention to what Myles was saying, so much so that she even forgot the marriage proposal.
The neglected Myles looked at the woman in front of him with his sparkling eyes. She was very special to him.
"Annie, don't you think you should take responsibility for what you did to me?"
Myles stepped forward, his chest against Annie's head. From afar, her petite body looked like it was nestled in his arms.
When she got a whiff of his strong masculinity, Annie suddenly raised her head and saw the handsome face right in front of hers. His warm breath mixed with hers and the atmosphere suddenly felt very romantic.
Annie was caught off guard and blushed as the man in front of her looked at her with his bright eyes.
In the past, the extent of her physical contact with Mason was nothing more than a hug. The fact that Annie was so physically close to the strange man made her heart flip in a frenzy.
"What... what responsibility do you mean?"
She was beginning to get dizzy and she became even more nervous and felt a little out of breath.
Myles was very pleased to see Annie’s reactions; he finally got to see her be infatuated with him. For a second there, he was starting to doubt his charms.
"You declared that I was your boyfriend in the presence of everyone at the wedding just now and even in front of the media. My reputation will be ruined by you. So what do you think? How will you take responsibility for what you did to me?”
In between his words, Myles stretched out his long arms around Annie's soft waist. As he did so, he could feel the softness and smoothness of her skin through her clothes.
The bold Annie in the hall just now had been reduced into a soft and meek little sheep. She was already coaxed by this man.
"I... I guess it’s better for you to be my boyfriend, then."
When she said that, Annie did not think it through and completely forgot that Myles had taken her first kiss. Blood rushed to her head and she could not think straight.
"Okay, next question. Since you agreed to my proposal, you should...promise yourself to me, right?"
"Pro—proposal?"
Annie felt as if a bomb exploded in her head. When Myles suddenly got on one knee and took her hand to propose, there was only one thing she could do and she nodded...
‘But wasn’t all of that just an act?’
Myles knew what Annie was thinking but did not intend to let her go that easily.
"Uh-huh. You said yes to my proposal. Shouldn't you take responsibility for what you did to me?"
Myles's wicked face exuded an unparalleled charm, so much so that even his voice started to sound magical as he hooked Annie into his pit.
"Well, how do you want me to be responsible?"
Annie's head was empty and she asked the question without realizing it.
"How about we get married right now?"
Myles stretched out his arms and wrapped them around Annie's shoulders.
"Okay."
Annie replied and went along with everything without noticing the cunning look in the man's eyes. All she did was nod absently in a trance.
However, when she went into the car and turned her gaze to the scenery outside the window, it was as if a bolt of lightning woke her right up.
‘Marry?!’ Who was she going to marry?!
"Stop the car!"
Annie grabbed the car door handle violently and looked at Myles in horror. Oh no, why did she feel like she had waltzed right into his trap?
Myles was still concentrating on his driving and saw how the woman was reacting. His lips curved into a smile but his expression was still very serious. He had no intention of letting Annie go.
Is it possible for a little sheep to escape a wolf’s den once it entered?
"We’re home. Where do you want me to stop?”
It took a while before Myles replied. Annie looked at the surrounding environment and the alley looked familiar to her because it was the road back she took back home every day.
"H...How do you know my family lives here?"
The alley was very narrow. Myles's luxury cars could not fit nor drive into it at all so he had to block the entrance of the alley.
At that time, a lot of familiar neighbors sat around the alley and all of them saw the priceless luxury car.
Annie felt like she had sat on a pin. With so many eyes on her, would she still have a normal reputation after she got out of the car?
"As your fiance, of course, I should know my fiance's place of residence."
Myles smiled as he looked at the woman whose forehead was soaked in sweat. He seemed to like her even more then.
‘Nowadays, there are not many women who are not materialistic nor humble, but she’s different.’
If being seen as a high profile made her nervous, such a reaction was exactly what Myles expected to see. He felt that only a woman like Annie was worthy of him.
"Wh... what fiance?"
When Annie heard that, she wanted to bang her head on a wall. Did she just sell herself out?
Myles ignored Annie's state of shock. He opened the car door and walked out of the car. All the aunties praised and admired his perfect appearance and outstanding aura. Sure enough, a handsome guy was popular everywhere he went.
"Honey, let’s get down. We don’t want to let our mother wait too long at home."
Myles walked around the front of the car and opened Annie's door. His cold tone had hints of tenderness and his eyes were loving.
If someone who knew Myles saw how he was acting, they would definitely be shocked to find out that he had a tender side.
Annie was also scared. No, it felt as if she was struck by lightning.
