Kai’s POV “Where did you go?” I suppress my groan as I pocket my keys and put my helmet away. My mother is standing in the doorway connecting the garage to the main house. “Out,” I say, hoping she’ll take that and leave me alone. “Are you supposed to be on that thing yet?” ‘That thing’ is my bike. “Didn’t the healer say you should avoid strenuous activity for a few more days?” “I feel fine,” I tell her.
