"No, I swear I didn't trick you!" Brysen defended himself, his forehead creasing with worry.

Stacey's scalpel made a hairpin turn around Brysen's head, lodging itself in the wall.
Brysen froze, petrified.
"Tell me the truth," Stacey demanded, patience running low.
"OK, the thing is..." Brysen was sweating buckets. "Your mom and I had a 'situation,' which Ryan Brown saw. Once he left, your mom found out she was pregnant and decided to tie the knot with me."
"A situation with my mom? You're saying you had nothing to do with it?!" Stacey asked.

"Help! She's gonna kill me. Why isn't anyone coming to my rescue!" Brysen shrieked in panic.
