Chapter 142: He Owns A Place Here
As soon as Stacey and Conor hopped in the car, they hit the road.
Inside, Conor took hold of Stacey's hand, noticing how icy cold it was.
Looking out the window, Stacey murmured, "I understand why my mom's folks never found her... They were looking for the wrong person."
Conor replied, his voice heavy, "Like you said, the DNA doesn't lie. Morris shouldn't have jumped the gun and claimed his daughter based on one test."
Stacey said, her tone icy, "That means the woman pointed out must be related to Morris somehow. Otherwise, Morris wouldn't have screwed up like that."
Conor nodded, suggesting, "To really get to the bottom of this, we're gonna have to pay Morris a visit."
"Right, we've gotta face Morris," Stacey agreed, then added, "And thanks, by the way."
"As your husband, I should have your back," Conor replied with a warm smile.
