I had expected Abigail to be furious, perhaps even start an argument with me, but to my surprise, she didn't do that.
Instead, she looked at me calmly, holding back her temper to try and soothe my emotions.
"Samuel, don't be like this, okay? I really didn't mean to lie to you. I love you… I really do. Keeping you by my side was never to torment you. Please believe me, alright?"
Each and every word she said was spoken with utmost seriousness. However, to my ears, they sounded absolutely absurd.
Yes, I would not deny that leaving Abigail and walking away back then was my fault. However, for all these years, she has kept me by her side, using every opportunity to humiliate and torment me.
